19th, September'2014 HEYUAN Peace Festival' was sponsored by China World Peace foundation, Beijing International Peace Cultural Foundation,HeYuan museum, and co-organized by UNESCO, China public diplomacy association, China Society for People's Friendship Studies and so on. This festival was held at Beijing Kempinski hotel.
Professor OuYang Kang, President of the Institute of States Governace, HUST, was invited to make a speech, represented HuaZhong University of Science and Technology. Singh, China re-presentative of UNESCO.Li Ruohong, chairman of China World Peace Foundation.Wu Jianming, deputy director of CPPCC Foreign Affairs Committee, President of China Foreign Affairs University, chairman of Bureau International des Expositions. Bai Yansong, famous host of CCTV. TianYan, Vice President of Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Victor Sikonina, Ambassador Extra ordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Madagascar.Liu Cheng, professor of Nanjing university and an expert of 'Peace Studies' and so on, gave speeches one by one.'2014 HEYUAN Peace Festival' was chaired by Xu Bo, Secretary General of UNESCO's Strategy Planning Agency. Ambassadors representatives of youth students and foreigners standing in China from all kinds of major universities and research Institutes, totally more than 300 person attended the festival.

OuYang Kang pointed out from his speech, peace is a requirement for human existing. It’s also one of eternal target that human pursue at all times. Since World War Ⅱ, peace and stability remained the general trend of the world, however, local wars can't stop, some of them were quite large and extremely miserable and those wars let numerous innocent people lose their life and made magnitude humanitarian disasters. At 2001, UGNA decided to start from 2002, 21st, September of every years will be 'International Peace Day' by passing NO.55/288 resolution. This decision showed urgency of striving for world peace and spoke for all peace -loving people. At this kind of background, 2014, Beijing 'HEYUAN Peace Festival' was initiated and the first organized by China World Peace foundation, Beijing International Peace Cultural Foundation and so on would be significant.

OuYang Kang 's opinion, maintaining world peace is a lofty target and a commendable wish .but whether it will be achieved or last longer，its depend greatly on if factors which cause violence and warfare can be holdback or resolve promptly and effectively. Therefore we have so many problems need to be deeply discussed.

First, we should study good and evil of human nature, discuss how to motivate health factors from peace-loving human nature. Eastern and Western cultures have different ideas of 'original sin' and 'the theory of human good nature'. But in reality, rewarding virtue and punishing vice it's ours common mission. All kinds of racism, fundamentalism and terrorism shows extreme, narrow, limited and ugly of human nature. We should introspect and critique them. The core of China culture is 'harmony and unity’, highlight the golden mean, claims 'harmony in diversity. It's benefits for people to pursue peace and appreciate those different from us and advocate harmony.
