In November 2009, the book Governance Assessment - China and the World written by Yu Keping and published by Central Compilation & Translation Press exerted great influence in academic circle.

     Governance Assessment - China and the World conducts a general observation on indication system of assessment at state governance level. The book focuses on introducing the indication system of governance assessment with great influence which was studied and put into practice by international organizations and western institutes while sketching a framework of china’s governance assessment and commenting related assessment system at home and abroad. The book is mainly divided into two parts: the first one includes the  framework of china’s governance assessment and comments on domestic and foreign governance assessment system; the second one covers the indication system of foreign governance assessment, ranging from governance indication program by UNDP to the indication system of governance assessment by multilateral organizations, bilateral organizations and independent institutes.

     Governance Assessment - China and the World answers such questions as what the contents or the key elements of good governance are how to evaluate the state governance, who will establish assessment standards for good governance and who will make evaluation to state governance.
